I haven’t done a Lawn Fawn challenge for a while. My pile of stuff that I haven’t used yet is piling up on me. I pulled out Lawn Fawn’s Winter Otter and Christmas Like No Otter Stamp Sets that I got last year and didn’t have time to use. Lawn Fawn’s current challenge is, “Bling it out” and you can check out the challenge
Unfortunately, I don’t own any of Lawn Fawn’s glitter card stock or chunky glitter so I opted to use Perfect Pearls and sequins. This is what I came up with:
I stamped and fussy cut out the otter and candy cane from the Winter Otter stamp set and the Otter that’s lying on his back and the Christmas hat from Christmas Like Not Otter. I colored them using the following Copic markers: R20, E33, E31, E29, R27.
I used the large stitched rectangle from Mama Elephant’s Peek A Frame Die set to cut out my card front.
I’ve kind of been obsessed with ink blending lately. Particularly with Distress Oxide inks. For the ocean waves, I die cut Lawn Fawn’s Ocean Wave Borders out of scrap card stock and I decided to use it as a stencil for my waves. I ink blended Chipped Sapphire (Regular Distress Ink), Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, and Twisted Citron.
I masked off my waves and decided to ink blend a sunset background. I used Distress Oxide inks Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin, and Spiced Marmalade. I sprayed my background with gold Perfect Pearls Diluted with water in a Mini Mister Bottle.
I used Lawn Fawn’s Ocean Wave Accents and cut wave slits into my ink blended water so the otters would have a place to nest.
I die cut out the sun and clouds from Lawn Fawn’s Spring Showers Die Set. I die cut out the top wave so I could tuck the sun behind it. The clouds were popped up with 3M foam tape.
I heat embossed the sentiment, “have an otterly merry christmas”, with Lawn Fawn White Embossing Powder on black card stock and popped them up with 3M foam tape.
I finished up my card with a spread of Pretty Pink Posh Clear Mix Sequins. The finished card is WAY more shimmery in person because of the Perfect Pearls but the camera unfortunately wasn’t able to pick that up. 😦
Thanks for stopping by!!
