Lawn Fawn You Are Sublime Birthday Box Pop Up Card

This week’s Lawn Fawnatics Challenge is shaped cards and I was excited to make another box pop up card!

Lawn Fawn’s You Are Sublime was in my “to use” pile and I had an idea for this card for a while and it’s finally coming into fruition.

If you’re unfamiliar with box pop up cards, you can check out my box card base tutorial below:

In this box I have 3 slats in my box to start and I used patterned paper from Recollections Mermazing Paper Pad. For my other decorative panels, I cut pieces of white card stock and ink blended them with Distress Oxide Inks Broken China, Faded Jeans and Mermaid Lagoon. I sprayed them with water to get a droplet effect then proceeded to stencil some Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste over Simon Says Stamps Waves Stencil. The end result is absolutely gorgeous!!!

I wanted to do some no line colouring, so I stamped the images with Ink On 3’s No Line Coloring Detail Ink. I’m using stamps from Lawn Fawn’s You Are Sublime, Mermaid For You, and Ahoy Matey.

I used the following Copic Markers:
– Mermaid: YR00, E95, E97, R20, E49, E29, E33, E35, E37, E57, E31, R20, R14, R22, BG72, BG75, BG78
– Scuba Diver: N1, N3, N5, YR00, E95, E97, B99, B95, B93, B97, E37, E33, E31, Y06, Y08, Y02
– Seaweed: (stamped with Lawn Fawn Celery Ink) YG09. YG06, YG03
– Rock: W7, W5, W3, W2
– Red Reed: R59, RV99, R46, white gelly roller Highlights
– Horn Coral: V09, V06, V05, V04, V01
– Chest: R59, R29, R27, R35, R17, R37, R35, R33, Y35, Y38, Y21, Y02, Y06, Y08, Y17
– Gem: BG09, BG5, BG01, White Gel Pen Highlights

I also brushed the scuba divers goggles and gem with my Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay brush pen and the coins in the chest and on the ground with Clear Wink Of Stella and filled them in with Glossy Accents.

I used Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Hillside Borders and cut 4 small hills for my ocean floor out of kraft card stock. I lightly ink blended the top edge of the hills with Ground Espresso Distress Ink.

I assembled my hills onto my slats with acetate tabs and adhered the scuba diver and mermaid on my first and second slat with longer acetate strips (to make it appear like they’re floating).

I stamped the sentiment, “Hope you have a sublime birthday”, with Lawn Fawn White Embossing Powder on black card stock. I finished up the card by gluing a piece of coral, coins, and a gem to the writing space.
