Hey Everybody!!
Chinese New Years this year is February 5, 2019. This might be early for Chinese New Year cards but I had the idea in my head and I wanted to get it out before things get super busy with the holiday season.
If you’re unfamiliar with box cards, you can check out my box card base tutorial video below:

The ink blended decorative panels were ink blended with Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar, and Tumbled Glass. The large gold polka dot patterned paper was from The Craft Smith Metallic Foil 12 x 12 Paper Pad. There were also 3 slats in my box to start.
I used Mama Elephant’s Lion Dance Stamp Set and stamped out my images with Simon Says Stamps Intense Black Ink. I also stamped and fussy cut 3 lantern borders from Mama Elephant’s Swinging Borders Stamp Set. I coloured my images with Copic markers and Prismacolor Pencil Crayons. I used the following colours:
Copics: Y08, Y06, Y11, R29, R27, B97, B95, B93, YR00, E95, W7, W5, W3, 100
Prismacolor: 20% Cool Grey, Indigo Blue, Ultramarine, Peacock Blue, Lemon Yellow, Sunburst Yellow, Yellowed Orange, Spanish Orange, Orange.
For the lions, I also went over them with a Versamark marker and I heat embossed with Recollections Marine and Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. The lion dance costumes are very elaborate in person and I wanted to make the images extra special so I decided to use some embossing powder.
I die cut a cityscape and road using Mama Elephant’s Cityscape Dies. I adhered everything into my card using acetate tabs and strips.

This card was also entered into Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge and Simons Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge.
This is will be my last card of 2018! Thanks for stopping by and supporting me throughout the year! I’ll catch you guys in 2019 with some awesome new stuff!
