I recently had a request from a friend to make a ninja box pop up card for her son’s birthday. I was happy to oblige. This is what I came up with:
If you’re unfamiliar with box pop up cards, you can check out my box pop up card base tutorial video below.
Front of Card
Back of Card
There’s 2 slats in this box to start and I used patterned paper from MFT’s Birthday Blowout 6×6 Paper pack and heat embossed MFT’s Starry Night Background Builder stamp with Recollections Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder on navy card stock for my decorative panels.
I stamped and fussy cut out the ninja and throwing star images from Mama Elephant’s Tiny Ninjas stamp set. There wasn’t much to colour on them but I used the following Copic colours: R29, R27, E95, YR00, and C1.
I wanted to keep this card relatively simple and have the ninjas look like they’re jumping out from the birthday boy’s name. I die cut the name, “Daniel”, using gold glitter card stock from Recollections Signature Metallics Paper Pad and MFT’s Little Letters Dies.
I adhered everything into the card using strips of acetate.
For the sentiment, I stamped, “hi-ya”, from Tiny Ninjas, and, “It’s your birthday”, from Mama Elephant’s Space Bears stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder. I adhered the sentiment to my front panel using my Zig Two Way Glue Pen

I hope my friend’s kid likes this card. Thanks for stopping by!
