I’m currently working through the stamp sets I have piled up on my desk that I haven’t used yet. I had an idea to use the MFT Ready Set Snow stamp set and make it into a Peek A Boo Card and I’m finally getting time to execute that idea! This is what I came up with:
I stamped and coloured the images from the stamp set and I used the following Copic Markers:
Polar Bear: W3, W2, W0, 0, E49, B18, B14, B12, YG03, YG00, YG06, B00, R20
Rabbit: W0, 0, YG06, YG03, YG00, R29, R27, B18, B14, B00, R20
Penguin: W9, W7, YR16, R29, R27, R22, YG06, YG03, B18, B14, B00, E33
Trees: YG17, G14, E33, E31
I cut 3 pieces of card stock for this card.
1. 4 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ (Score at 2 3/4″)- FRONT
2. 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ (Score at 4 1/4″)- INSIDE
3. 4 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ (Score at 5 1/2″)- BACK
I die cut the window using MFT’s Birthday Speech Bubbles Dies.
I ink blended my background using Distress Oxide Ink Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Dried Marigold, and Carved Pumpkin. I then used the MFT Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil and Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink to add the rays.
I assembled the card base using Score tape. I started with the back piece and put Score tape on the small flap and adhered it to my inside piece as if to make a “z” shape out of the two pieces. I lined up my windows on the front and inside pieces and adhered them together. The small flap on the front panel gets tucked between the inside and back piece and creates the surprise when you open the card.
I die cut stitched hillsides using Mama Elephant’s Landscape Trio and adhered them into my card, as well as the stamped images. The hills were cut from a textured white card stock from Craft Smith Neutral Paper Pad. The polar bear on the front was adhered using some 3M foam tape to give it some added dimension I stamped, “Ready, Set, Snow!”, on the back panel as well as, “Happy Brrrthday”, on the front panel flap with Versafine and heat embossed it with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder.
You can check it out in action below:
That finishes up my card. This card was entered into Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge here.
