I recently heard about an Austrailian stamp company called Hello Sweetums and I absolutely fell in love with their cute designs! I impulse bought 5 of their stamp sets and went to work, but then I got really sick and life was kind of crazy for a bit so here I am now a few weeks later than I had originally intended to get this post up!
My first project featuring Hello Sweetums uses the Seas The Day and Oceans of Encouragement stamp sets! These mermaid stamps are the cutest mermaid stamps I have ever seen so I had to use them on a card!
This is what I came up with:
If you’re unfamiliar with box cards, you can check out my box card base tutorial below:

There are 4 slats in my box and the decorative panels are from Recollections Mermazing Paper Pad and the other panels were ink blended with Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough, and Peacock Feathers and stencilled using Simon Says Stamp’s Wave Stencil and Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone. Moonstone is my absolute favourite glitter paste because it creates such a gorgeous effect.
Anyways, so I stamped images out using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and I coloured them with Copic Markers. In no particular order, I used the following markers:V15, V12, R20, R22, R32, R29, R27, R14, R17, YR68, YR02, YR00, E95, Y38, Y35, Y21, Y08, Y06, Y11, YG00, YG03, YG06, YG17, G00, G05, G07, G14, G17, G19, G21, B00, B02, BG15, E31, E33, E37, W2, W3, W5, and W7.
I also used Prismacolor Pencil Crayons (Crimson Red PC924 and Burnt Ochre PC943) for the mermaid hair.
I stamped the reeds with Lawn Fawn Celery Stick, Freshly Cut Grass, and Jalapeno ink and stamped the coral with Lawn Fawn Wild Rose Ink.
I used a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen for highlights and texture on most of the images.
I adhered all my images into my box card either directly onto the slats or onto strips of acetate to make them appear as if the images were floating and applied Clear Wink Of Stella to all the fish and the mermaid fins.
I glued another fish, seaweed and rock to the back of the card on the writing space and finished up the card with a sentiment on the front flap. I white heat embossed, “Wishing you oceans of joy”, in Nuvo Glacier White Detail Embossing Powder.
