It’s that time of year again…
Every year I make a box pop up card. This year, I decided to enter into a different category- Clean and Simple. Sometimes it’s nice to sit down and work on a card that I can actually finish in one sitting and takes less than 5 or 6 hours to create.
This is what I came up with:
I decided I wanted to use a stamp set that I haven’t used yet. I, like many others, am a collector of MFT’s Birdie Brown line of stamps. I grabbed the Up in The Air stamp set because I had a particular vision for this card.
I grabbed an A2 sized card front and diagonally ink blended with Distress Inks Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, and Cracked Pistachio. I sprayed the panel with water to create a droplet effect and sprayed the panel with Perfect Pearls diluted with water in a Mini Mister bottle to create a subtle shimmer.
I wanted to use a cloud stencil to create a background but I didn’t have one so I created one using MFT’s Puffy Clouds Dienamics and continuously die cut another A2 sized card front. I laid this stencil over my ink blended panel and spread Ranger Texture Paste over top and set it aside to dry.
While I was waiting for it to dry, I stamped and die cut the big balloon and bear from Up In The Air and coloured them with Copic Markers. I used the following Copic Markers:
Bear: E49, E47, E43, E41, R20, R22
Balloon: R29, R27, R17, R14, YR07, YR04, YR02, Y08, Y06, Y02, Y11,YG09, YG06, YG03, B18, B14, B12, E37, E33.
I brushed my Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Brush Pen on the balloon.
I cut a strip of paper from MFT’s Black and White Stripes 6×6 Paper Pack to use as an accent on the right side. I adhered it down, as well as my ink blended panel.
I heat embossed the sentiment, “You’re Growing Up, Up, Up”, in WOW Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder on black card stock.
I adhered the images and sentiment onto my card front with 3M foam tape.
That finishes up my card. You can check it out in the clean and simple category here.
This card was also entered into Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge .
