Lawn Fawn Mermaid For You Box Pop Up Slider Card

I’M BACK FROM MY YOUTUBE HIATUS! Lawn Fawnatics current challenge is a 3D card challenge which is super awesome because I am a pop-up card lady!

I’m deviating a bit from my usual, “use stamps in my to-use pile” posts but instead, I pulled out one of my favourite Lawn Fawn stamp sets: Mermaid For You.

I won’t go into too much detail since there is a Youtube video, but I will say, if you’re unfamiliar with Lawn Fawn’s Scalloped Box Card Pop Up Die, you can check out my tutorial on how to assemble it below:

Lawn Fawn Plane and Simple Box Pop Up Card

This week’s Lawn Fawnatics Challenge is a 3D card challenge which is GREAT because I’m a pop-up card lady!! ^____^

I had time to make 2 entries this time around, so I’ll start with the simpler of the two. I would have had time to do more but I decided to make a Youtube tutorial with my second entry, so you guys can look forward to that!

Like with most cards I have been making lately, I’ve had the Plane and Simple stamp set sitting in my to-use pile. I wish I had more time in a day to “play”, but don’t we all?

I stamped and cut out the older looking plane from the Plane and Simple stamp set and did some simple Copic colouring using the colours: BG15, BG13, BG10, R17, R14, C5, C3, and C1.

I die cut out the Scalloped Box Card Pop Up Die out of yellow cardstock and assembled it with 4 slats in the box. If you’re new to box pop up cards, you can check out how to assemble the die here:

I did use the stitched dies included to decorate the outside of my box. The striped paper was from Recollections Fly Me Away Paper Pad. For the top panels I die cut white cardstock and used a scrap piece that I die cut with Lawn Fawn Cloudy Hillside Pop Up Add On Die and stencilled on the clouds with some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I also die cut 4 more cloud pieces with white cardstock to use in my card.

This card is relatively simple compared to some of my other pop up cards I’ve made. I adhered the clouds directly onto the slats and adhered the air plane and banner to the card on strips of acetate to make it look like it was in mid flight.

The sentiment, “You’re plane awesome”, was stamped with Versafine and heat embossed with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder.
