Lawn Fawn Party Animal Shaker Card

I didn’t put in the title but this is my fourth entry for Lawn Fawnatics current challenge (#25). I just have a bit of time this week and managed to get more done than I had hoped, which is great because I’m slowly widdling down my neverending to-use pile.

I love that the current theme is a rainbow theme. Since this month is also Lawn Fawn’s birthday, I wanted to make a birthday card. When I think of birthdays, I think of balloons. So I wanted to make a card with rainbow balloons.

7IkFeMoLTNehkWnZvll47g_thumb_17de

I used Lawn Fawn’s Party Animal stamp set. I don’t usually do this for cards but I decided to take that single balloon stamp, make masks of it, and repeatedly stamp it for my background. I ended up making 4 masks with Inkadinkado Masking Paper and through them out at the end. The process masking and stamping the whole panel took me a while but it feel it gives a nice effect.

The balloons were coloured with Copic Markers: Y02, Y06, V15, V17, YG06, YG09, YR16, YR07, R29, R27, B37, B34.

I stamped each animal image with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and cut them out. I used the following Copic colours:
Fox: R20, E08, E15, E18, E53, E50
Deer: R20, E49, E47, E43, E41
Bear: E29, E25, E21

I wanted some sort of floor for the animals to be standing on so I chose a neutral grey card stock and ran it through my Cuttlebug in the Gemstone We R Memory Keepers Next Level Embossing Folder to create some subtle texture. I adhered the panel to the piece with the stamped balloons.

Here’s the longest run on sentence ever- I die cut the largest rectangle from MFT’s Single Stitch Line Rectangle Frames dies, cut down a piece of acetate to fit, glued my animals to the front, heat embossed the sentiment with Lawn Fawn White Embossing Powder, applied my 3M foam tape to the back, filled my shaker card with confetti, sequins, and chunky glitter, and adhered the whole front panel to a card base.

Lawn Fawn Beam Me Up Box Pop Up Card

So I had some time and managed to pump out a third card for Lawn Fawnatics #25 Challenge. Check out my other two card entries here:

1. Striped Easter Card
2. Happy Easter Box Pop Up Card

The rules say you can submit up to four new cards so if I have more time, I can do one more.

Mail tends to take a bit of time getting to me since I’m in Canada but I received my preorder for Lawn Fawn’s Spring release and absolutely HAD TO USE the Beam Me Up stamp set. I’ll probably be using this stamp set for a few other card ideas but it’s my absolute favourite stamp set from their Spring release and it coordinates so well with another favourite stamp set of mine, Lawn Fawn’s Out of This World!

I heat embossed MFT’s Starry Night Background Builder on black cardstock for with Recollections Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder for the bottom decorative panels. For the interior and upper decorative panels, I used Bristol Smooth cardstock and did some ink blending to create a galaxy background. I used Distress inks: Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet, and Black Soot. I sprayed the panels with water and dabbed it off, then I sprayed the panels with my Mini Mister that was filled with Perfect Pearls and water then flicked slightly diluted Copic Opaque White onto my panels.

The following images were from the following stamp sets:
-space crafts, alien, sentiment: Lawn Fawn Beam Me Up
-stars and Earth: Lawn Fawn Out Of This World

The images were stamped with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink because they are a Copic friendly ink.

These are the Copics I used on this card: C1, C2, YG06, YG11, G14, G17, B000, B00, B02, B05, R17, R14, V15, V17, YR16, YR02, Y06, Y08.

After I finished colouring the images, I took all the spaceships and applied a coating of Glossy Accents and set them aside overnight to dry.

I glued all the images onto scrap acetate strips and adhered them into my box card. The Earth image was glued directly to the backdrop.

I heat embossed the sentiment, “Have an out of this world birthday”, in Lawn Fawn White Embossing Powder on black cardstock and cut them out into strips to adhere to my front flap.

To finish up my interior, I applied Clear Wink of Stella to all the stars and the lights on the spaceships.

To complete my card, I added an extra alien to the back where people can write a message.

MFT Sketch Challenge #378

Wow, I haven’t done a Sketch Challenge since July of last year! I have such a large stack of unused stuff that I’m making it a goal to create more this year and get through my never ending to-use pile.

I took this week’s Sketch Challenge quite literally and I didn’t deviate too much from it.

MFT_WSC_378

This is what I came up with:

+o3RG8DCREW986l%+6xx8g_thumb_17dc

I used the third largest square from MFT’s Stitched Square Stax and cut myself a window. I thought it would be cute if farm animals were peering through a window and so I looked at my stash to see what I haven’t used yet and MFT’s Small Brick Stencil popped out at me. I grabbed my unopened jar of Texture Paste and tried to do some stencilling. I mixed the Texture Paste with Distress Oxide Inks Fired Brick and Candied Apple and applied it on my card front. I’ve never used texture paste before. It’s kind of fun but kind of messy. Thankfully I have a craft mat!

I set the panel aside to dry and proceeded to stamp and colour and die cut my stamped images from MFT’s The Whole Herd stamp set. I used the following Copic Markers:

Cow: E95, YR00, C7, C5, R20, 0, E31, E33, E49, E47
Pig: R22, R20, E33
Goat: B02, B00, RV21, 0, Y08, Y06, E31, E33, C1
Horse: E41, E43, E47, E49
Chicken: Y08, Y06, YR16, YR02, R17, R14, R20
Chick: Y08, Y06, R20

I grabbed Mama Elephants Landscape Trio and die cut the cloud border from scrap cardstock. I didn’t care too much about how it was cut, I was just going to use it as a stencil. I took the inner stitched square and ink blended the cloud border with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create a background.

I glued the square down onto a card front panel and adhered my animals in place. I later added the stitched hillside (Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders) die cut from a piece of textured green card stock and glued the animals over top. I popped the brick panel up on 3M foam tape.

I die cut a stitched banner from MFT Blueprints 20 and heat embossed, “Herd you had a birthday”, in WOW Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. I popped the sentiment up on 3M foam tape and added the little chick to make it seem like he was running on top.

This card was entered in Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge and Wednesday Challenge.

The Whole Herd stamp set was actually the very first MFT stamp set I ever bought. I’ve had it for so long but it’s still one of my absolute favourites!

Mama Elephant Little Bunny Agenda Card

Besides bunnies, I’ve also been loving Mama Elephant’s Grid Window Creative Cuts. I’ve used it once for a Chinese New Year Card here but I wanted to make a Spring card with it too. It’s so versatile, you’ll probably see me use it all year round!

YccOlfeuQq+T4t25RLbrbw_thumb_17bb

So with this die, I like to build dimension with it. Using 3M foam tape, it wouldn’t be very aesthetically pleasing, so I die cut the die three times out of 110lb light blue cardstock and once out of 65lb purple card stock and that seems to be the width of 3M foam tape. I stack and adhere all the pieces together. It’s nice because it builds dimension but it also makes the card look really clean. I really like how the edges are a different colour than the frame.

I stamped out 12 bunnies from Mama Elephant’s Little Bunny Agenda stamp set and I coloured them with the following Copic Markers: 0, C1, Y11, Y06, YR02, YR20, YR23, YR16, R20, R22, R14, R17, YG11, YG06, BG01, BG05, V12, V15, W5, and W7.

I had a hard time deciding what to do for the background of each square but eventually decided on stamping MFT’s Diagonal Stripe Background with Lawn Fawn Cilantro ink on lime green paper and stamping Simon Says Stamp’s Tiny Dots and Hearts Background with Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue ink on the same light blue cardstock that I used for the grid.

I adhered the bunnies in place with 3M foam tape and called this card done!

Lawn Fawnatics #25 Challenge: Lawn Fawn Happy Easter Box Pop Up Card

So I had time to make another entry for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge. I still had Lawn Fawn’s Happy Easter stamp set sitting on my desk from my previous card here, but I am a box pop up card lady and I haven’t made any this year so now that I have a bit of time, it’s a good time to start!

Lawn Fawnatics #25 Challenge: Lawn Fawn Happy Easter Ink Blended Stripe Card

Today I’m back with a series of entries for Lawn Fawnatics 25th challenge. Rules say you can upload a maximum of 4 entries per challenge. I have a few days off work and I managed to make a few cards. I didn’t get a chance to make many Easter cards, so I decided to make one for this challenge.

Lawn Fawn’s Happy Easter stamp set was still sitting in my “to-use” pile so I decided to pull it out for this card.

This week’s challenge is a rainbow colour challenge, so I decided to do some emboss resist techniques for this card with softened rainbow colours to make it more Easter themed.

n0Js5WFBSOS4N6Dq+KuKOQ_thumb_17bc

I used the tulips, both Easter eggs, and the heart in the stamp set to repeatedly stamp a background. I also used a solid heart from the Baked with Love Stamp set. Lawn Fawn has lots of sets with small solid heart images but when I was looking through my stash, it was the first stamp set I saw with one so I just grabbed it to use.

I also recently acquire Lawn Fawn’s White Embossing Powder so I wanted to give it a try. Verdict: Really like. Once my Wow Bright White Embossing Powder runs out (almost finished container), I will be frequently using this one.

Once I heat set the embossing powder, I did lots of masking and ink blending. I masked off the top and bottom of each row to create stripes as I ink blended in rainbow order. I used Distress Inks: Spun Sugar, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass, and Milled Lavender.

I stamped the jumping bunny with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and did some simple shading with Copic Markers C1, Colorless blender, and R20.

I die cut Lawn Fawn’s Scripty Happy Die 3 times, twice out of a dark grey cardstock and once out of a gold glitter cardstock and adhered them together to give my simple card just a bit of dimension. I also cut a banner from Lawn Fawn’s Everyday Sentiment Banners and heat embossed, “Easter”, from the same stamp set.

I trimmed down my card front and used my We R Memory Keepers 1-2-3 Punch Board to round the corners of my card front and card base in the top right corner and bottom left corner. I adhered all my elements in place and called it a day.
