Waffle Flower Boo Peek A Boo Halloween Card

Hey Everybody,

Unfortunately, I haven’t had much time to card lately but I’m back from a little hiatus with my one and only Halloween card this year! I had Waffle Flower’s Boo Stamp set sitting on my desk and I really wanted to use it. I’m a big fan of Waffle Flower’s Big Bear and Bird line of stamps and this stamp set is no exception. It’s so cute!!!

I used a bunch of different products for this card, which I will list below:
1. Waffle Flower Boo Stamp Set (Bear, Ghosts, Bats, ‘Boo…’)
2. MFT Witch Way Is The Candy Stamp Set (For the moon and cloud)
3. Lawn Fawn Costume Party Stamp Set (‘Halloween’)
4. Mama Elephant Landscape Trio (Cloud border)
5. Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banner (thinnest banner)
6. Mama Elephant Happy Script Die
7. Lawn Fawn Zig Zag Circle Stackables (second smallest circle)

I used the following Copic Colours:
Ghosts: B00, R20
Cloud: B00
Moon: Y08, Y06, Y11
Bat: BV29, BV25, BV23
Bear: YR07, YR04, YR02, YR23, Y21, E47, E43, E41, E37, E33, R27, YG06, BV08, BV04, BV02, BV00, R20

I cut 3 pieces of card stock for this card.
1. 4 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ (Score at 2 3/4″)- FRONT
2. 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ (Score at 4 1/4″)- INSIDE
3. 4 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ (Score at 5 1/2″)- BACK

I die cut the window using the second smallest circle from Lawn Fawn’s Zig Zag Circle Stackables out of my front and inside pieces and making sure the windows line up.

I assembled the card base using Score tape. I started with the back piece and put Score tape on the small flap and adhered it to my inside piece as if to make a “z” shape out of the two pieces. I lined up my windows on the front and inside pieces and adhered them together. The small flap on the front panel gets tucked between the inside and back piece and creates the surprise when you open the card.

For the background on the front and inside of my card, I ink blended Distress Inks Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Carved Pumpkin, Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot. I also dipped a toothbrush in watered down white acrylic craft paint and sprayed the background with and finished it off with a spritz of pearl Perfect Pearl mixed with water in a Mini Mister.

In the window I stamped, “Boo…” with Versafine and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Sparkle Embossing Powder. On the small flap of my front panel that gets tucked between my inside and back piece, I ink blended with Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed. I wanted the centre to be little lighter so I blended a bit of Hero Arts Unicorn Ink over the Squeezed Lemonade and sprayed it with a gold Perfect Pearl diluted with water in a Mini Mister before adhering my ghost in the centre.

The cloud borders were die cut from a textured off white card stock from Recollections.

For my inside sentiment I die cut the happy script twice- once out of white 110 lbs card stock and once out of black glitter card stock and I adhered them together. “Halloween”, was heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on a banner of lime green piece of card stock.

That finishes up my card. I hope you guys like my one Halloween card for this year. I had a BLAST making this and am so excited to make more of these kinds of cards.

This card was entered in Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge and Wednesday Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a safe Halloween!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #11: Lawn Fawn Booyah Shaker Card

LawnFawnatics_for-kids-11-768x768

So I acquired both Year 7 and the Booyah stamp sets a while ago but haven’t gotten around to using them yet. I guess that’s like with most stamps sets I own lately o_O”. Actually, my “to use” pile has grown significantly in the past couple months due to the MFT retirement sale that happened at the end of July. There will be lots of cards featuring retired MFT products soon, I promise!

I saw someone on Instagram white heat emboss some ghosts for a Halloween card and thought that was the most amazing idea and went with it. So I white heat embossed the ghosts from Booyah with some of their accessories as well as candy from the Year 7 set, on vellum. I used Copic markers and coloured the back of the vellum to add faint colour to the images as the vellum is translucent. I white heat embossed a lot of the candy because I wanted to use it within the shaker card. I figured the ghosts dressed up would be trick or treating so putting candy within the shaker card seemed fitting.

I set up a scene using the Leafy Tree Backdrop and the larger of Little Town Hillside Pop Up Dies. I used the Little Town Hillside Pop Up instead of the Little Town Border Die because I really liked the stitched line on the pop up die. I wanted to create a night trick or treating scene so I cut both pieces using black cardstock.

I adhered a piece of acetate to my Leafy Tree Backdrop and adhered my ghosts to it with scor tape. Used a double layer of 3M foam tape on the back to encase my shaker components and set it aside.

The background sky was made by ink blending Distress Inks Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet, and Black Soot. I sprayed the panel with water, dabbed it off, and then spritzed it with a mini mister filled with water and Perfect Pearls just to give it a bit of shimmer. I glued my Little Town Hillside to my background then proceeded to fill my shaker.

Along with the candy images, I also filled the shaker card with sequins from iridescent sequins by Darice, Clear Sparkling Mix Sequins by Pretty Pink Posh, and star pieces by Recollections.

I assembled my shaker card then glued the whole card front onto a grey card base with my ATG adhesive.
